  • Marian Rogers

For some reason I cant see the trailer, but, I have already pre-ordered your book.
I thoroughly enjoy your novels. They transport me to a place I always felt I belonged. The east coast.
I grew up in Toronto, Canada, I lived for 19 years in Southern California and now we are living in Dallas Texas and I am feeling totally landlocked. I miss the ocean and the fresh breezes.
Your books bring me back to those feelings of water and calmness.
I can’t wait to start reading Silver Boat.

    Regards
    Marian

I loved Sisters and I know I’m going to love this new book. In fact, I love every book you have ever written. I used to buy every one, but now that I’m retired and trying to downsize so as to leave less for my daughters to dispose of, I read my local library’s copy. I can’t wait for The Silver Boat to be available!

  • Angie

Love books about sisters and love you Luanne! Am excited for this new book. I have a sister and we are close and spend at the beach each summer with the family. I have never been disappointed by a Luanne Rice novel and am sure to love this one also.

Sometimes Memories can be such a comfort and blessing when life is so full of changes all around. Those memories bring you back to a place where you found comfort and peace. Treasure your memories always. I was an only child who would have loved to have the companionship of sisters. You are truly blessed. So very proud of you

  • http://fromfacebook Judy

Just listened to your trailer……makes me wish I had grown up in a place like that. I love the sea..beaches…the idea that out East is the best of the old families and huge beach houses. You would never forget the growing up part with sisters and family. But it would be sad if it didn’t comtinue into adulthood…the good times. I have two sisters, but we grew up on a farm in the midwest, so totally different. But family memories might be the same. I have to read your story because I love to put myself in the story and kind of always wish I had grown up near the sea. So, I will love the book. Always a good read. thanks so much

  • Vivian

What a great tribute to your sisters, family and childhood memories. Watching this made me want to phone my brothers to discuss our childhood memories. Thanks for such a great reminder. I look forward to reading this book upon its release.

  • http://jrobertsmenswear.com Marilyn Schoberg

I, too, am an only child and imagining the closeness of sisters is sometimes hard for me, although I have a cousin to whom I am very close. This story really appeals to me for the settings of Martha’s Vineyard and Ireland, home of my ancestors. Can’t wait!

  • http://www.marichards.wordpress.com Marcia Richards

Luanne, I pre-ordered Silver Boat a few days ago and after watching the trailer, I’m even more excited to receive the book! I also have two sisters and we have great memories of a few vacations to Cape Cod when were young. We are all in middle-age now and have gone through periods where we were not as close as the early days, but always manage to find our way back to each other. Surely your new book will be a huge success, and well-deserved!

  • Susan Stover

Pure Luanne Rice….it is amazing how she can always find the perfect nuance from real life, put it in words that reachs the hearts of all readers. I always find a pearl of wisdom that can be applied in my life by reading her books. What else do we have but memories, if nothing else.

  • Bobbie Wiseman

The trailer for this book makes me want to read it NOW!! I am a senior citizen now, and with my Mom in a nursing home in the hometown where I grew up, your memories sound a lot like the thoughts I sometimes have when I go there to visit her. All the years passed, but you still remember things that impressed you when you were a child!
Thanks for offering to give a copy of your newest book away. Hope I will win!
I am now reading the 3rd one of your books that I have, Secret Hour. I have 2 others that I haven’t read yet.

  • Danielle Bevins

Watching the trailer reminds me of why I moved to the East Coast. I want my son & my Grandchildren to have wonderful memories like that. I want to look back on my life & smile when I think of the great times we had at the beach, something I wouldn’t have experienced had I stayed in Ohio. Your books are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing with all of us, we love you dearly for it.
    Much love and respect,

  • Jane

I got tears just watching the trailer. I have that exact same feeling everytime I remember going to my Grandfather’s cottage in the “thumb” of Michigan. I had 4 sisters, 3 now, and those memories I cling to since we have all gone our separate ways now and don’t even find time to get together for Holidays. Its nice to know someone else can relate and I can’t wait to read the book and escape to an easier time in my life, before adulthood, bills and reality hit.

  • Cathy King

The beach, sisters, and Ireland…what could be better…like the 3 parts of a shamrock.
Family and memories of family often times keeps us going when our spirit is down.

  • Teri Dunaway

Love the trailer, and your thoughts about the book … sisters and growing up … something we can all relate to, and something I can’t wait to read your take on! Thanks for another “sisters” story!

  • http://luannerice.net Lana

Just listened to your trailer and I also have many many happy memories growing up with a beach house and sharing those memories with my family. My parents bought their beach house for the family to enjoy and be together and what great memories I have. I still see my Dad sitting in the porch waiting for us to arrive (even though he is now my angel in heaven) but cherish all the years we did have together. I can’t wait to read your newest book!!!

  • michele c’melo

there are so many instances in my life where i am so grateful to have my 2 sisters . any squabbles, petty or otherwise, always work themselves out.
i cannot wait to read this whole book. i am a huge fan and looking forward to adding this to my library. ah, to lay on the beach and read! i can’t wait!

  • Jocelyn Plowey

This can be a useful book for me to connect with my sisters again, rather one particular sister. We were so close and look up to each other in a funny way, for she was the eldest sister and I was the baby of the family. I was brought up with respect and love to my family and a bond between my siblings. It has been past two years we had been separated from each other, with little connections through family members, because of some foolish misunderstanding and lack of acknowledging the problem, which hurts my inner heart and soul as of today. Your voice sounds beautiful with wonderful words and memories I had of my ‘dear sister’, who is still dear in my heart still, but simply cannot let go of the pain. I am struggling inside. I love hearing your trailer and I am sure this book can and will solve my problem with my sister to be connected as bonded again.

  • EV BEDARD

All of your books are special–I never had those beachfront childhood memories, but our family got to spend a week every summer in NY’s Catskill Mts at a small family-run resort (owned by friends of my folks). My sister & I learned to swim and to play shuffleboard & tennis, too. The two of met boys there & experienced our first crushes at Jesse’s Elm Shade, in Greenville, NY. Many great memories–that have lasted a lifetime.

  • Cindi Villella

Growing up, I did not have any of the things Luanne Rice speaks of in her book trailer….however, I did always long for a family with lots of brothers and sisters; and absolutely, would have loved to have a cottage on the beach to spend family visits and holidays.
I just recently discovered Ms. Rice’s books and just finished “The Deep Blue Sea For Beginners”. What a wonderful book! I can’t wait to read “The Silver Boat”! Never having experiencing these things for myself, I am able to do so through her books. Thank you so much for the many wonderful hours of escape.

  • Molly

    This is beautiful!

“…and in this way we hold on to the love that was always there, and will never leave.”

    I love it.

  • Sharlyn Ricks

Your writing always takes me to the places you write about. Just like the Black Hall stories, this one will make me feel I have been to this beach and to Ireland. I can hardly wait to read it.

  • Bridget Callahan

This sounds wonderful i can’t wait to read it.

  • Renata

Love your trailer for your newest book! Family & memories are what matter most in this world! ;)

i have never heard of this author before, but i believe that silver boat would be a good read. i am the oldest of three sisters and we have all had our ups, downs, and very ugly moments. we grew up in Fl. ,so the beach scenes will also be enjoyable. even if i dont win the free copy, i will probably purchase < read, then ssre with my sisters.

I can’t wait to read this book! I was born in Key West and lived there up until 6th grade. It’s on my bucket list to get back there before I die, but I know it won’t be the same as it was in the 50′s. My dearest wish is to have a little cottage where I can see the ocean from my windows.

I love your books! They always strike a chord in me – a very harmonious one.

Beautifully done trailer – families and memories – building a foundation for good or bad for each of us.

  • Jackie

I can’t wait to read this new story. My fondest childhood memories are also around water at my aunts lakehouse. Nothing more peaceful than being near that water.

  • Debbie Johnson

I have 2 sisters. Although we are older we are still very close. I love the bond between us and know it will always be there! Can’t wait to read this book!

  • Debi Hellems

Wow, listening to her tell about the sea, beach and the ‘safe haven’ that she and her sisters shared gave me such a feeling of nostalgia. Although I have never lived by the sea I have often fantasized of living in a quaint cottage by the sea; waking each morning to the sound of the waves, walking barefoot in the sand with the wind whipping through my hair, and of course, there was always a ‘tall dark and handsome’ man looming somewhere to help me with whatever I asked of him. I can’t wait to read your book. Need to check the library for the first one.

  • Debbie

Very intriging. Can’t wait to read this book. Luanne has always been able to capture the reader and place them among the characters and in their lives. Her writing captures you from the first paragraph and is most often hard to put down once started!

  • Jen Smarsh

I absolutely love your books! Have been waiting a long time for this one. I have had it on hold at the library for a couple of months now!!! Your stories about family along w/the beach settings always remind me of my growing up years. Thank you!

I grew up in the city of Hartford, CT and our family escaped to the beach every weekend. It was our safe haven, getting away from city life and enjoying the peace, and tranquility of the ocean. Memories you cherish forever. I look forward to reading your new novel Luanne.

One sister dumped all the old movies. The other sister and I cry every time we think about never seeing them again.
My spring/summer is not the same without a Luann Rice book. I read them then send them to my friend’s house on Cape Cod. I’ve built a whole LR library there.

My sisters and our 86 year old mother go to the southern shores of Carolina every October to experience much the same that you describe in your trailer of “The Silver Boat.” Aging, youth, illness, weddings, births all get ‘celebrated’ and the salt water sting of the sea washes away the sting of our tears – whether they be of joy or sorrow! Can’t wait to read your book!

Looking forward to reading this. I love the seashore and your story growing up with your sister as your friend takes me back to my own childhood and fun times my sis and I had growing up.

  • BettyJane Shane

I am the middle of three sisters! Hearing you speak of this book, reminds me of summer days, laughter and the love we knew as children. We no longer ever hardly even speak to each other now. It makes me sad and my heart breaks when I heard you speak of your childhood and the present also. I will always miss those times in our lives and the fun we shared. I loved your first book about it and can not wait to read this book. It will have to wait until I save up the money for it. I miss my youth and also the Atlantic shore line where we would go as children each and ever summer. Thank you for bringing back those memories.

Having lost so many family members in my life, I turn to memories. With no family home to go to anymore, my ‘Home is where the heart is”. Because “The Silver Boat” trailer reminds me so much of years gone by (cottage rental in nantucket), I truly look forward to getting ‘lost’ in your new book. I know it will be yet another of your ‘gems’ I will enjoy. Thank you for years of entertainment.

  • ANN LANGE

Love hearing about your upcoming book from you personally. Your books always become a part of me. They seem to touch on parts of my own life and experiences in so many ways and feelings. Thanks!!

I have liked reading several of Ms. Rice’s books and I am sure I will like this one only I could not here the trailer. Her story lines are so very well though out and they make you feel like you are there.

  • Fran Currier

Love your books, LuAnne. The summer cottage our grandparents owned was very special to us. We took turns to stay there with our grandparents, and also had large family gatherings. Very special memories! They are gone now. Still visit our little town!

  • Marjorie Roberts

The Silver Boat will really strike a chord with my sisters and my life. We have a little house that we inherited at a small beach town in Virginia. We get together during the summer and stay there every chance we can. We’ve already planned our first week there this year. My older sister is 13 years older than I, and my younger sister is less than 3 years younger. My older sister and I spend alot of time reading and sharing books while my younger sister transposes bell choir music or studies for career tests. We share alot of memories there and look forward to our together time in the summer. We all live in separate states and so it makes it super special whenever we can get to our home away from home to share memories of visiting our grandparents’ former lives, memories of our parents, and to make new ones with each other, friends, and family.

  • Mary Putnam

This trailer made my heart ache with nostalgia for the way things were when we were children. As sisters in our 50′s now, life has taken us all on different paths each of us with our own loves, trials and tribulations in life. I will always love the “memory” of the way we were, and it will always have a special place in my heart. It is so wonderful for me now to see my own two daughters grow up & see how close they are and how much they love each other. They share such a special bond & I envy that. This book is already going to be a must read for me. Thank you for sharing a part of your past with all of us. It certainly brought back alot of memories of summers at the lake with my sisters. I love my sisters immensely, but don’t have that same connection with them anymore.
Another bestseller for you for sure!

    Mary

  • Elaine Deming

Ordered your new book for my Kindle; wish I had a sister!

  • Jana Harver

Listening to Luanne in this trailer reminded me of a condo in Palm Desert where my family would gather on holidays, week ends, and whenever we could get away. We lived in San Diego so it was only a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there, but it seemed that we were very far away from our daily lives and we could all relax, swim in the pool, walk, play tennis or just relax and talk. Good memories

  • Laurie Nightengale

Even a “Okie” loves reading about the ocean, and family connections. Like other readers have said far more eloquently than I could, I see the places and characters in my mind when I escape to a good book. I have 2 sisters also, so always enjoy the stories about relationships between sisters.

  • donna arrigo

i am so anxious to read this book as i too spent summers in a beachhouse on long beach island, in new jersey that was always filled with family and friends and fun and laughter — i miss those days but smile broadly as i remember them. i am 50 yrs older now, and treasure those summer memories still…

  • http://facebook Connie Capehart

Luanne’s books take me away to a place I have never been or even have done. I put myself in the main characters place pretend to be them and am so relieved when things
go wonderfully and am sad when something really sad happens.

How lovely that your childhood ties in with your life now. This is why your books are the best.
Every now and then a memory comes across my mind like that and it could come from a smell, word, music,or just an overnight stay in my beloved Connecticut.Ocean Beach Rocky point, Niantic.Something as small as finding a great Grinder Shop is still there after all this time.
I tried to give my Children something to give their Children as did my mother to me(Thanks Mom).
Thank you Luanne for letting us into your lovely memories. For letting us know that it is ok to think of them and that it helps to cry and to say I am sorry. So go hug your Family and your best Friend It’s ok!
What a lovely promo for that book.It made my Night!
    XOXO

I have always enjoyed your books and your unique ability to make the reader feel like they are part of the story. I don’t have great childhood memories like these, but my sister is my best friend and I can imagine what it would have been like to have a great beach house or vacation spot that created such cherished memories.

  • Cathy Wright

I have loved every book that you have written. I look forward to this book because I have two sisters and we are very close. Can’t wait to read this book.

  • Chris Fairwood

The best memories of my life were spending it on the CT shore-in Old Lyme! I take after my dad-he loved the long Island sound so much-he would take us to walk the sand in the winter.
The first thing I did when I was able-was to buy a small cottage there.
The best beach reads are books by Luanne-I feel we have a kinship with the love of the CT shore!

  • Caroline Hartman

Something about the sea, perhaps the sound, the rhythm, the smells brings home the fundamentals of life: love, home, family, the passage of time, life eternal. All of Luanne Rice’s books have followed some theme of these eternal rhythms so reminisent of the sound and smell, the very rhythm of the sea. I’m anxious to read her new book.

  • Linda Daigle

One of my favorite things to do is to cuddle up with a cozy blanket and read your newest book! The problem is, that I read them too quickly and then I am anxiously awaiting the next release. Fortunately, I love your books so much that I read them more than once and this eases the wait! Thank you for sharing your beautiful stories with us!

  • Susan

Great trailer! Look forward to reading your new book!!

  • Wanda Zerangue

I’ve never read one of your books. I was looking at books and someone recommended you. I purchased 2 of them and they are on my nightstand to be read next. I look forward to reading them. This new book also sounds interesting. You never can tell….I may become your next huge fan!!!

It has been far too long since you have been in my town! Beautiful footage. This was almost as good as hearing you speak in person. Almost. I cannot wait to read your newest creation. I have no doubt it will be close to my heart, as always. Thank You Luanne!!

  • Donna Todd

Luanne – I have loved every one of your books. My mom introduced me to your writing and both of us still read every book that you write. I am anxious to read The Silver Boat. My sister and I were very close growing up and we are just now starting to find our own pathways. It is hard sometimes, but I am glad that I have the memories of when we were younger and the time we spend together!

I love Luanne’s books, have read almost every one of them. I loved the video, made me feel that Luanne was adding so much of her own life in this novel. A truly enspiring story that I would love to have. Making and sharing memories is so important in all our lives.

  • Liz Walker

I love all Luanne Rice’s books and am looking forward to getting this book. I can always get it at the library if I don’t win a copy.

  • Candy Fischer

A great way to entice me into reading your current book. I have read several of your book and really enjoyed them.

Awesome! What a great opportunity to “meet the author” and hear about her newest book. I can’t wait to get it! I’m sure this will be as good as the rest. I have read them all, or at least all I could get my hands on…. This was really a special treat! Thank You. Blessings to you and yours…

Just finished re-reading, “Geography of Sisters.” and can’t wait to get my hands on this one. My Sisters and girlfriends are so much a part of who I am and I so appreciate the importance that you put on this.

  • Jerrine Regan

Not only have I read every Luanne Rice book, but I have them all, and I’ve seen every movie. I bought the first book because I have a daughter named Kylie and the character in the book was named Kylie. Looking forward to reading and owning, “The Silver Boat”.

  • ARIANA EAOTN

jUST THE TRAILER BROUGHT ME BACK…I CAN’T WAIT TO READ THE BOOK! my sister and I both mourn the loss of our old family cottage in O.L. I am still here, she is so sad, she does not even return to the beach. Growing up here (summers is when all children “grow up”) is so special….the time on the beach, spent with friends, even the rainy days in the house that smells of old wood and salt. It never leaves me. Thanks for putting into words what I have always felt.

  • Cathy Rogers

Thank you for all your books. When i read your books they make me feel as if i am right there. My sister and i traveled to the east coast a few years ago and both of us talked about your books and made the remarks as if we had been there, just from your way of wrighting and painting the pictures in our heads.. Thumbs up to you Luanne!!!! Keep up the great work and can’t wait to win your book, thank you…

  • Tracy Wellard

Both your childhood and the book sound magical!

I love all of your books, reading SUMMER LIGHT right now.Yes,I am a little behind, but you had already written several books before I found you and had time to try new authors ( New to me, that is.) I look forward to your new one, although I don’t have a sister, I do have some old friends, I have reconnected with since I have retired. Keep the books coming. I enjoy all of them.

  • http://dfridley001@woh.rr.com kathy fridley

I cant wait to read your new book,it reminds me of my childhood so long ago,I have the beautiful memories to hold on to now that my sister has gone, its the place I go to in my mind when I miss her most.

  • lisa

Wow, just listening to you tell about the book made me cry. Maybe I don’t want to read the book (smile). I am the oldest of four girls and just the trailer moved me. I miss my sisters so much. We all live so far away. I am on the east coast, one is in the midwest and two are on the west coast where I originally lived. It is sad for me to think how far we have drifted, though we contact each other often enough, I still miss them dearly. Ok, done crying now. I am sure this book will be up to par with allyour others. I wish you much luck and success as you surely deserve!

  • Carol Durgin

I have loved all of your books. I never had a chance to vacation when I was younger. I have two sisters but they are a lot younger and our relationship is not a close one. I do however, have a friend, who loves the beach as much as I do. Spending time on the beach brings peace and a moment to clear ones mind. Just listening to your soft voice and the feelings you project, brings comfort and tugs at my heart. Thanks for your talents and for your ability to bring us along for the ride.

  • http://luannerice.net Kim Kerrigan

I love everything about the sea and beaches and most importantly — family. You have a magnificent way of capturing all of these things in your books and I cannot wait to read “The Silver Boat.” I only grew up with brothers and whenever I read your books and sisters are involved, I imagine that is what it would have been like for me growing up with a sister (s). Thank you for writing such endearing books.

  • Debbie Hartwig

I have read and loved all of your books. I also believe family is so important. Love is the most precious gift to give and receive. Right now my only sister and I are on different paths and I hope that they will cross again. Looking forward to reading your new book very soon.

  • Alida Lane

I am so excited to read The Silver Boat. Even the cover is absolutely beautiful. Ms. Rice always captures the beauty of coastal living, family relationships and great story lines all in a fantastic book. She has me finishing one of her books and anxiously awaiting her next one. She is amazing!

  • Suzette

I have not read any of your books, but wanted to check out your Facebook page because I’m always looking for new authors to read. Your book The Silver Boat sounds like a nice memoir of your childhood days and the times you spent with your sisters. I had two sisters, one 15 years older, one 3 years older. We spent time together, but never at a shore, as we lived in Minnesota.

Our childhood home has been torn down and a school built in its place. I often wish it was still standing as I have fond memories of the years we lived there.

Our secondary house, the one we lived in from 1968, is on the verge of being sold, as my mom is now living in a nursing home and the state requires all of her assets to be liquidated before they will offer any assistance in her care.

My sister who was closer in age, died 6 years ago, and now there are very few places left that I can go to remember her and the days we spent growing up together.

It is a sad reality that soon I will be without the home or the sister that I was closest with to revisit. Although she remains with me in my heart and memories, I do understand having a special place that you can revisit to bring even more memories back.

I guess there is still one place in central Minnesota where I feel a close connection to her. It is at St. John’s Abbey, near the lake and the boat house. When she was in school at St. Ben’s I spent a weekend with her and attended an art opening. When the opening was done, a group of her friends and I ran down to the boathouse in the rain and proceeded to drink a bottle of wine and wait out the rains. It was such a great time of story telling and song singing and I have never forgotten it or the feeling of being in that boat house with them. I guess those are the feelings that you are offering in your book and I look forward to reading it.

    Thank you,
    Suzette

  • Kathleen Juskowiak

I could feel the memories of my childhood bubbling up from inside as I watched the trailer for The Silver Boat. I didn’t have the sisters, but my cousins and I all shared the memories of days spent together at my Auntie Bev’s beach place on Puget Sound. . . Interestingly, I have discovered that all of us have put in our wills that we want our ashes spread there when we die, so I anticipate that Luanne’s book will offer insights that will resonate deeply in my soul.

  • http://silentwhisper1.blogspot.com/ Denise

Luanne? Psst…I do believe I am comment number 154 (chuckles).
I have a confession, ahem, I have only but read one book of yours ( but I think you already know this). However? Silver Boat looks quite intriguing. In fact? in some passing in various stores I see a linage of books in which I declare! I hadn’t known of before the book I first read of yours. That said? I adore the idea of the ‘trailer.’ I’m drawn to Silver Boat already.
Now, as for what shell fish I’d like to be..hmm..wht fun!

  • Libby Teague

I have read and loved all of your books! I’m intrigued by the sisters theme in your new book and can’t wait to get it. Sisters relationships are wonderful and complicated.

Memories are all we have left of a time that speeds by way too quickly, and aren’t appreciated until long after they have passed. Looking forward to your new book.

  • debbie

Luanne, I am very much looking forward to your new book. My sister and I spent our summers on Cape Cod and dream now how we would love to be able to do so again.

  • Suzanne

Wow, sounds like a heavenly, intriguing book. I am looking forward to reading by the fire in our cabin, looking out at the little lake… or taking it out to the beach and curling up on the sand, listening to the waves. (sigh) a wonderful time, no matter where.

  • Jane Murphy

I’m looking forward to this new book, Luanne. I never had sisters and created my own along the way. I have fond memories of the days in Woods Hole many years ago when a special crew of sailors was part of my life!

  • Kay Worrell

The Silver Boat sounds wonderful. I have enjoyed all of your books that I have read and look forward to this one. I love beach settings and my sisters and I went to a family cottage every summer as well. Excitedly awaiting this new book!!

  • Gailanne

Just now listening to you remember the times you were small with your sisters brought so many of my own memories back at the beach. Thank you, looking forward to your new book…your one of my very favorite authors! Stay blessed!

  • Kathy Pushor

This book sounds wonderful. I love all your books and that they take place near the water. I have a big family and 1 sister whom I get to see every summer at the beach for 1 week..that is truly my haven..Cannot wait to read this new book..

  • Carissa Winter

I’m a newbie to Luanne Rice thanks to a Facebook Ad. I plan to make “The Silver Boat” my first read. Also, this was the first book trailer I’ve seen!! It is very interesting way to reach your readers and make them familiar with who you are. It’s great!

  • carol mullins

Have always loved your books I come from a family of readers my sisters and mothers also love your books.I have to wait til our public library has your books. When I find one its like I hit the lottery. The SilverBoat will be as enjoyable as your past books because you never let us down!

  • http://l Linda Taday

I can’t wait to read your newest book. Each time I read one of your books it’s like a visit home. I was one of five sisters…no brothers. Now there are only four of living and we are scattered in different places. A few years ago our family home was sold. I drove past it last week. It is painted a different color but it still felt like “home”. Well, actually it is…to a different family. Now we gather together on Sunset Beach in Cape May, NJ. That will be our final resting place…then my sisters and I will all be together again. Thank you for all of your wonderful books.

  • Linda Sherrell

Being from Indiana, ocean waves I neither see or hear. But, when reading your books, I am right where you are! Vacation time is only once a year for me, so when I want to go somewhere all I have to do is pick up one of your novels. Thank you so much. Your novels are a wonderful tool in making me and alot of others happy and content!

  • Judy Pascarello

Just watched the trailer and now I really can’t wait to read the book. As usually, you reach out and touch the heart. Good luck with The Silver Boat. Waiting patiently.

  • Renee

You have such a gift wsith words…wether written or spoken. Loved the trailer. I’m looking forward to the book.

  • Dorothy Sanderson

I have read several of your books about sisters and love the stories. I have one sister and though we live far apart in miles we will always be close in heart and memories of growing up on a Kansas farm.
Woudl love to win this book but will read it regardless of how I get it.

  • Nicolette Suarez

I cannot wait to read your new book!!!! I’ve read quite a few of your novels and I’ve enjoyed all of them! I cant wait to read it!

  • Jackie Bierman

I love your books and have them all. I am currently re-reading some of the older ones. The release of The Silver Boat is coming at a perfect time for me. I am having surgery on April 4th and will be stuck home for at least a month. I am very much looking forward to having it to read!

  • Karen Dlask

I have bought and read every one of your books and recommend you to any one that is looking for some thing to read. I am an avid reader trying to read every day and always look forward to a new book by you. I have one sister and cherish our childhood memories, she was there for me when I lost my home in a devastating flood in our town in 2008 letting me live with her and her husband for 15 months until I was able to get a home of my own. Again looking forward to reading The Silver Boat.

  • Connie

I can relate to so much of what you are saying. I, too, have two sisters. We grew up close and have spent a lot of time together even as adults. My husband and I have a place at the beach in NC and still invite my sisters to spend time with me…they are my friends as well as family. My children and grandchildren spend a lot of time at the beach with me and I hope one day they can share the same type of memories you were sharing in your book. Can’t wait to read it…and yes, on the beach enjoying the sand, sun and the sound of the waves as they splash upon the sand.

  • Laurie Auxier

Luanne I so enjoyed the trailer of “The Silver Boat”.. My family is so very important to me ,I only had one sibling a brother who I lost to Lymphoma in 2001 it was a hard thing for me to deal with and accept.. Then recently lost my Mom and this was the big one which is going to take alot of time for me to get over..My cousins were my brothers and sisters and still are I have some of the most wonderful memories with then as a child our family was very close.. At holidays we would all go to ones house and we would have sleeping pallets all over the floors where everyone was staying all night Christma and Thanksgiving were the special times of memories.. I am still to this day very close with my cousins and couldn’t do with out any of them we all are there for one another to laugh and cry together..
This trailer let me know how close your are to your family and what they mean to you..I have always enjoyed your books and look forward to reading “The Silver Boat”..I always as I read a book put my self in the book as I am watching it all happen ..Keep up writting the books .. a reader Laurie (Madison, Indiana) me I love star fish

  • Eileen Mackinnon

The trailer is great and I am so looking foward to reading your new book. I have two sisters who threw-out the years have had ups and downs with. We tragically lost my brother when he was 19(whom was my Irish twin) and then we lost our Mother 14 months after his death. It changed our family dynamic as she was the glue who held us together. So, when I read your books I get so lost in them. Thank-you for sharing your God given talent to write!!!! :)

  • Vickie Schaffer

This sounds and looks like another good book to take along to the beach. I enjoy reading your books when I have peace and relaxation. After I’m finished reading your stories, I often wonder how the characters are doing…what they went on to do after the book was done.
I enjoy getting to know bits about you from FB.

  • Marcia

This trailer on “The Silver Boat” was great.
Saw you years ago at RJ’s in Madison where you introduced me to your writings and I have since so enjoyed.”The Silver Boat” sounds so good!! Just received a message on FB from RJ’s that you will be here again soon. See you then.

Good morning, wow, I just read a few of the comments, and I chose who I would want to win the book myself!!!! Such, sonderful stories from your readers. I do have two sisters, so really feel the connection…We grew up on a farm in the midwest so totally different than your story, but we share the bond of the farm as you do of the lake place. I am always jeleous of anyone with what you are describing as your childhood, because I love the water…really looking forward to reading your new book. It will probably make me cry. thank you so much for giving us your piece of your childhood. it sounds wonderful..thanks again.

  • Alicia Mylott

I, too, have wonderful memories of my 5 sisters and I on a ‘beach’. It was really a muddy lake, but the memories are flooding back..Cindy got a fish hook stuck in her foot… and we all would squeal as the mud squished between our toes! Thanks Luanne for taking me back! ((~.~))

I have to admit the cover of your books really get my attention- it’s how I started reading your books. I was on the East Coast last week and took your book, Sandcastles to read. Ironically we stayed at Sandcastle
and when I came home I found a writing of mine, that I forgot about- one year later. Yep, titled Sandcastles.

I love all your books – I guess I especially like them because I can relate to the locale, living in coastal Georgia. Growing up with 2 brothers, and then raising 2 sons, I always wished for a sister, but never more than I do now in my 60′s. This is why I love your sister books because I can live vicariously! I can’t wait to read The Silver Boat.

  • Nancy Welch

I have read almost all of your wonderful books. I love the way they all take place at the beach or resort towns. I have pre ordered this book from Barnes and Noble, and can’t wait to read another great one. Thanks Luanne. Keep up the good work.

  • Meg

Luanne, what makes your books special to me is the mentioning of New Britain and places there. I miss those times and what my life would have been like if we didn’t move. I miss all those friends I lost contact with there but am so happy to have reconnected with several including Maureen. Thank you for writing those wonderful books. I am sure this one will be just as wonderful.

    Dear Luanne,

I absolutely loved your trailer for The Silver Boat. Talking about sisters, places of where we’ve grown and moved away. My sister (Michele) and I have both moved away and have had different lives but we are so ever close and have a bond that could never be broken and have those memories of Newport, R.I. that we will always cherish and look back on and remember when times were different and our lives took a different role.

When I watched your trailer Luanne, everything I was hearing was such a reminder to what my sister and I shared and how much we had as children. You never want to forget those Special memories and always want to look back and reminisce to a time when things were more simple! I cried watching your video trailer, It is Beautiful Luanne. Thank you for all of your wonderful books that you share with the world. Michele and I now have our mom reading your books too!
    Love, Lisa Vars Heil

I have to read sisters, then the silver boat…. The theme of your books touch me so much I just got done with Stone Heart. I could relate to sophie in a way in scared me. I was in a bad relationship, I do have a family that rather sweep things under the rug… But as I get older, I see the changes in my family as Maria does. Thank you for another great book :)
